DO I NEED TO PURCHASE MY OWN INSTRUMENT BEFORE THE FIRST LESSON?
You will need your own instrument before the first class, however you don't have to commit purchasing an instrument straight away, you can start renting (it starts from as little as £10 a month) and then decide to purchase later on. I can advise you on which model you need, and where to purchase/rent it from.
HOW DO I PAY?
Payments for all the lessons are made via bank transfer after the lesson or monthly. You can decide!
DO I HAVE TO COMMIT TO A NUMBER OF CLASSES?
No, you can have a first lesson and then you can decide whether you want to continue weekly.
IF I CANNOT MAKE SCHEDULED LESSON, HOW DO I CANCEL?
If something comes up and you cannot attend your lesson as planned, no problem! Just let me know at least 24 hours before the lesson and we can reschedule it at your convenience. I have a 24-hours cancellation policy, so if you don't let us know at least 24 hours before the scheduled lesson you will still have to pay for the lesson.
DO I NEED TO PURCHASE ANY SPECIAL EQUIPMENT FOR ONLINE LESSONS?
No, you just need a computer or any kind of device with the Internet connection. It is possible to do these calls via tablet/smartphone propped on a music stand. You would also need to download an application like Skype or Zoom (if you don't have one). For the best quality possible, a laptop/desktop computer with microphone is better. I will help you to set everything up.
DO YOU HAVE ANY SPECIAL EQUIPMENT FOR ONLINE LESSONS?
Yes, I have invested in some better audiovisual hardware for teaching, which has made a big difference in call quality. In case you are interested in what I am using, links to audio/video equipment are detailed below:
- Zoom H5 - external microphone for better sound quality
- Clip-on ‘Pop’ filter (reduces additional noise when speaking into microphone)
- GUCEE HD Webcam
Please note that this is more to ensure my own call quality is high enough for you to get as good a teaching experience as possible, and are not necessary for you to purchase for me to teach the student.
